Brightlingsea Boat Show is hosted by Morgan Marine in Shipyard Estate, CO7 0AR. The Colne Yacht Club, Brightlingsea Harbour and Brightlingsea Sailing Club on the waterfront host the Regatta events.

Don't miss the Fireworks Display produced by Dynamic Fireworks at 9:30pm on Saturday 27th May. There will be fantastic views from Western Promenade, Waterside Marina and much of Brightlingsea. This is a free event but donations will be collected for (and by) Brightlingsea 4Youth. Many thanks to Purelake New Homes, Brightlingsea Coastal Rowing Club, Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners, Brightlingsea Town Council, Coach House Coffee Shop, Exo Environmental, Morgan Marine, Olivers Wharf and Orchards Holiday Village for funding this great event for the local area!

 

This year (as in 2014) the Brightlingsea Blessing and Reclaiming of the Waters is part of the Regatta Weekend - find out about this historical event and the plans for celebrating it on Sunday 28th May on Twitter.

The weekend event sponsored by Town & Country – residential sales and lettings promises lots of boats (new and second hand), lots of marine chandlery stalls, lots of clothing, lots of marine jumble stands and associated trade stands such as trailers, covers, rigging and electronics.

Visitors to Brightlingsea Town Regatta and Boat Show will be treated to some fantastic on the water events such as boat races, displays and rescue demonstrations as well as being given the opportunity to try a boat themselves as part of the ‘Try it’ Sessions. Both clubs have yachts and sailing boats for visitors to try during the Regatta weekend – please book in at The Colne Yacht Club or Brightlingsea Sailing Club.

On the water 'try it' sessions... Come to Brightlingsea Sailing Club from noon on both days to sign up for powerboating or sailing sessions. The Colne Yacht Club are providing 45 minute sessions on two Sonatas on Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm - sign up on the day. Life jackets will be provided - but please bring suitable clothing and footwear.

There will be lots of new and second hand motor boats, yachts, RIBs, and inflatables for sale on moorings and on hard standing at Morgan Marine - including Prestige, Jeanneau, Maxum, Bayliner, Sea Ray, Excel and Waveco. Stalls and shops offering chandlery, marine electronics, engines, clothing (everything from boots, to sunglasses / hats and wetsuits to life jackets) – and everything you may want for your boat - all at fantastic promotional prices. As always we will hold a Marine Jumble Sale – with some serious bargains! With local bands, Majorettes, the RNLI, Coast Guards, Royal Navy Association, Children’s entertainment, BBQ and much more – there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

There will be plenty of food available from The Colne Yacht Club, Brightlingsea Sailing Club, No 1 Harbour Square, Yachtsmans Arms, Waterside Fish & Chips, Dragon 8 and other local venues.

As usual, there will be entertainment on the Saturday night from live bands - come and join the party!.

With many thousands of visitors expected, the Boat Show and Regatta provides easy access, free entrance and some free parking.

Dogs are welcome - but they must be kept on a lead. With fun in mind, we aim to give everyone a warm welcome and a fantastic weekend!

Each year, the whole event is supported by the Brightlingsea Town Council. All associations and businesses within the town and area are being encouraged to participate in this huge local weekend.
